This first person that we hear from on our Lenten journey is Mary, Jesus’ mother. That makes perfect sense because the mother is usually the first person to be aware of a child growing inside of her. Whether this child is a surprise to us (as it was with Mary) or we have been anticipating and planning for it for months, the reality of being responsible for another life is often overwhelming. Yet God saw fit to give this task to Mary.
We all have areas in our lives where we have had come to the realization that if God sees fit to give us a task and God wants us to do it, then God will give us the strength to get through it.
What is the task that God has put before you today as you journey towards the cross with Christ? Take heart that like Mary, God will give you the strength to get through it.
